Hey. How’s it going? I am BLOGGING live from Washington, DC – our nation’s capitol. I have been here, staying with Joel, since Monday. I am working at the Washington, DC location of the office that I work for. I have been taking the train into the city and going to a gray cubicle and sitting all day – just like at home. Yeah, I could probably get some small thrill from seeing tourist attractions like a Washington, DC McDonalds or a Washington, DC Starbucks but that would mean that I would not being sitting in a cubicle all day. That’s no good.

The trip is going better than I expected but that does not mean that I can’t wait to get home. You know, it’s true, there is no place like home.

I was debating sharing all of the little observations that I am making on this trip as they come up or saving them all for next Monday’s radio show. It’s going to have to wait until Monday.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day. Drink it! Enjoy the snow.

Later.

BLOG. Weekend Edition.

Friday. I finished reading “The Recognitions” by William Gaddis. The book kind of lost me at the end. Many of the references were over my head. It is a book the I am probably going to want to go back to again if I am ever any smarter. Parts of it were pretty funny but it is hard to laugh while you are trying to figure out what is going on. This is true in life in addition to literature.

Saturday. I read half of “Amerika” by Franz Kafka. I ran. I worked. I drove to Andrej’s house. Much has been said by a variety of people regarding my bad driving. I will not dispute that here (or anyplace – I am a bad driver.) My biggest problem while driving is that I don’t pay attention to anything having to do with driving when I am behind the wheel. I often arrive at a destination with no recollection of how I got there. There is a part of me that knows that I am supposed to be paying attention. Sometimes, I make a full stop at a stop sign, pause for the time that I think would be appropriate to look in both directions and then proceed forward continuing to drive without actually checking if there is any traffic. I do this all the time. I just sit there. Yeah. That seems like a long enough pause to check for traffic. Go. Let’s hope there is nobody coming. I also drive by just looking at the bumper of the car in front of me but zoned out to everything else around me. This works well on I-80 through Pennsylvania. I am not sure if it such a good idea on Clifton Boulevard. If you see me behind the wheel of the Eurowagon, you pay attention because I am not. Also, I saw a motorized wheel chair driving east on Wolf Road crossing Dover Center Road in Bay Village, OH going faster than most cars driving in Bay Village, OH. This person must have been a daredevil. Lastly, I jammed with the Sinner’s Sweet Groove Machine last night and fell asleep early. I was exhausted.

Sunday. I finished “Amerika” by Franz Kafka this morning. Good book. I just ate some cereal. I am BLOGGING. I am going to do some news clipping and then go to the office for a couple of hours before the Cleveland Cavaliers take on the Indian Pacers at a sold out Gund Arena where Laurie and I have tickets. Then, we are going to a buffet with Laurie’s father. Upon returning home, I have to pack for a trip. I am going to Washington, DC for a week to stay with Joel Kaufman (ex-Revelers). The season finale of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is on tonight. I am going to watch that too.

Seems like a full day. I will tell you about it all tomorrow on the Assholier than Thou Good Times Happy Friends Monday Morning Radio Show Starring Baby Fea (yea!).
